Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones. Hypothyroidism can be caused by a number of factors, including autoimmune disease. The most common cause of hypothyroidism is an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
